I am a professional photographer who uses natural light and space to reveal the peace and tranquility of the world. Photography has taken me to beautiful locations, introduced me to fascinating people, and has shown me the commonality of the human experience.
Like many photographers, I was introduced to the medium by my father, an amateur who built a dark room in our basement. My interest in photography grew when I began to travel, and I carried my father’s camera with me when I embarked on my first cruise as a young Navy officer. The hobby continued growing even after I left the Navy and pursued a career in financial services. I did a short mentorship under a local professional photographer and when we completed our time together he said, “You know, you could do this for a living if you want.” I was still focused on my investments career, but a seed had been planted in my mind.
A few years later, I was getting tired of Wall Street and I found myself spending more time escaping to nature and carrying my camera. I reached a decision point and concluded that I’d like to spend my time exploring photography and nature. I started my business, and shortly thereafter received my Certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography.
My artwork reflects not only what I see, but who I am: my experiences, and my view of life. I am passionate about nature and water. I love boats and geometric patterns. And I am convinced that my journey as an artist is not about me, but about what I can capture with my camera to share with others.
My clients are mainly in healthcare and hospitality, and I am motivated to share the beauty, tranquility, and healing-power nature with those in healthcare settings. I operate my company a certified veteran-owned small business (VOSB), and I am proud that approximately two dozen VA Medical Centers have purchased my artwork.
